First of all, this video gives a quick description of how to use the tool - don't worry about remembering the details, the document below it has all the iinformation you need. Hopefully the video shows just how easy the process of creating your own map is. Just click on the video to get started.
After you've watched the video, refer to this document for more detailed instructions.
All that's left is to create your map! Once it's done, click "Link to this page" and then send the result to Maidenhead Maps. Note that you can continue to make changes once you have submitted the link and they will automaticall be picked up by anyone viewing it though this site.
